Assessments & Projects
Theory tests, project workspaces, and practice quizzes — how to find, attempt, and submit your assessments.
Assessments overview
Your assessments are assigned by your teacher and appear both on your course page and on the Assessments page (linked from the dashboard sidebar). Each assessment shows its type, due date, and your current status.

Theory Test
Written questions — multiple choice, short answer, matching, and extended response.
Project
Build a digital artefact (game, app, AI model, website) with guided sections.
Practical
Teacher grades your in-class performance using a rubric.
Practice Quiz
Self-paced quiz to test yourself before a real assessment.
Theory tests
Theory tests are timed written assessments with a mix of question types. When your teacher opens a test:
Open the test from your Assessments page
Click the test card. Read the instructions including the time limit and number of questions before starting.
Click 'Start Test'
The timer begins. You can see how much time remains at the top of the screen throughout.
Answer each question
Work through the questions. Auto-marked questions (MC, T/F, matching) give immediate visual feedback. Written questions are marked by your teacher later.
Pause if needed
You can pause mid-test and resume later. Paused tests save your progress automatically.
Submit when finished
Click 'Submit Test'. You cannot change answers after submitting.
💡 Pro Tip
Read every question carefully before answering. For extended response questions, write in full sentences and address each part of the question using the mark allocation as a guide.
ℹ️ Note
Your teacher marks written responses and will release your results when ready. You will see a notification when your marks are available.
Projects
Project assessments guide you through a multi-stage creation process. You will build a real digital artefact — a game, website, AI model, or application — and document your process along the way.
Quick Guide
A one-page overview of what the project involves and how to get started. Read this first.
Section Guides
Step-by-step instructions for each graded section (Analysing, Designing, Creating, Evaluating).
Tutorial Videos
Embedded how-to videos for technical skills like training an AI model or building a game.
Upload your work
Submit files, links, screenshots, and documents for each section.

Project workspace

The project workspace is your main working area for a project assessment:
Sections sidebar
Lists all graded sections of the project (Investigating & Defining, Designing, Producing, Evaluating, Presentation). Click any section to open it.
Progress bar
Shows your overall completion percentage — how many sections you have filled in.
Section fields
Each section has structured fields to fill in — text responses, file uploads, and template prompts to guide your writing.
Show template
Click "Show template" on any text field to see an example structure for that response. Use it as a guide, not something to copy.
Submit
When you are ready, click Submit in the workspace header. You can unsubmit and resubmit until your teacher releases grades.
Auto-save
Your work saves automatically as you type. You won't lose progress if you close the browser.
Tips for project work
💡 Pro Tip
Work on your project a little each lesson rather than trying to do everything in one sitting. The section guides break the work into manageable steps — follow them in order.
ℹ️ Note
Some projects let you choose the type you want to build (e.g. image classifier, sound classifier, or pose classifier for an AI project). You select your project type when you first open the workspace — this cannot be changed after you begin.
Practice quizzes

Practice quizzes are self-paced quizzes assigned alongside a theory test or project. They are not graded — they exist so you can test yourself before the real thing. After each question you get instant feedback: whether you were right, the correct answer, and an explanation.
💡 Pro Tip
Use practice quizzes more than once. Re-sit them until you can get a high score consistently — that is a good sign you are ready for the real assessment.
Submitting your work
Different assessment types submit differently:
Theory Test
Click "Submit Test" at the end. Cannot be changed after submission.
Project
Click "Submit" in the workspace. Can unsubmit and resubmit until grades are released.
Practice Quiz
Answers submit automatically after each question. No final submit needed.
Practical
No submission needed — your teacher grades you directly based on your in-class performance.
Viewing your results
Results are released by your teacher — they do not appear automatically when marked. When your grades are ready, you will receive a notification. To view your results:
Open the Assessments page
Find the assessment. Released results show a grade badge.
See your total mark, question-by-question breakdown, and teacher feedback.
Read teacher feedback
For written responses and projects, your teacher may have left feedback comments. Read these carefully — they tell you how to improve.
ℹ️ Note
If you believe a mark is incorrect, talk to your teacher directly. They can review and adjust marks before they become final.
