Intervention Alerts
Intervention alerts automatically flag students who may need a check-in. An alert appears when a student has started at least one lesson or chapter but has not returned for 7 or more days — and the class has alerts enabled.
Enable in class Settings
Open the class Settings tab → enable 'Completion Reminders'. Set the inactivity threshold (default 1 week).
See alerts on the Overview tab
Flagged students appear in a card on the class Overview with the number of days inactive and a 'Send Nudge' button.
Click 'Send Nudge'
Marks the student as contacted and records the date. Use this to track your follow-up history — no actual message is sent automatically.
💡 Pro Tip
Use the nudge as a prompt to send a personal message or have a quick conversation with the student. A human follow-up is more effective than an automated notification.
ℹ️ Note
Alerts only fire for students who have started and then stopped — never-started students are excluded. This avoids false positives for new enrolments.
Completion Reminders (weekly digest)
In addition to real-time alerts, you receive a weekly digest summarising all students who are behind on completion. Configure this per class in Settings:
Class Settings → enable Completion Reminders
Toggle on and set your threshold (how many weeks of inactivity = behind).
Receive weekly notification
Every week you get a digest listing behind students with links to their profiles.
Student Goals
Students can set up to 3 personal learning goals within a class. Goal setting is student-driven — you can view but not edit their goals.
View goals
Click a student → Goals section. See what each goal is and the student's self-rated progress.
Check-in responses
Students check in on goals regularly. You can read their responses to understand how they feel about their progress.
Insight for conversations
Goal responses surface what students are struggling with before you ask — great context for 1:1 check-ins.
ℹ️ Note
Check-in prompts appear for students after 6 days and can be submitted once every 24 hours. This pacing is intentional — it encourages reflection without becoming a daily chore.
Student Journals
Students can write learning journal entries — reflections, responses, and notes linked to their lessons or as standalone entries. Access them via the Student Journals link in your class Activities tab.
Read entries
Browse all journal entries from your class. Filter by student, date, or lesson.
Add a teacher comment on any entry. Students see your comment the next time they view their journal.
Track frequency
See how regularly each student is reflecting — a proxy for metacognitive engagement.
Private by default
Journal entries are private between the student and their teacher. Students cannot see each other's entries.

💡 Pro Tip
A quick comment on a journal entry shows students that you read their work and care about their thinking — even two sentences makes a significant difference to engagement.
