Live Quiz
Run real-time class quizzes with instant leaderboards, no student codes needed. Keep engagement high between questions with built-in games.
Launching a Live Quiz
Open the Quizzes tab in your class
Click your class → Quizzes tab. All available quizzes for the course are listed.

Expand a quiz to see launch settings
Click any quiz card to expand it. Configure timer, auto-advance, and then click Launch Quiz.

Quiz goes live immediately
Students on the course page automatically see a 'Join Quiz' banner — no code needed. They tap it to join.
Students answer on their own devices
Each student sees the question and four coloured answer tiles on their phone, tablet, or laptop. They tap to answer — results appear on your host screen in real time.
💡 Pro Tip
You can also launch a Live Quiz from the lesson viewer top bar while teaching — click the ⚡ icon without leaving the lesson.
ℹ️ Note
Students join automatically when they are on the course page — there are no room codes or PINs to manage. If a student is not yet on the course page, ask them to open it and the banner will appear.
Quiz settings
Include all question types
By default, only multiple-choice and true/false questions run in live mode. Toggle this on to also include matching, ordering, and written questions (AI-marked in the background).
Written questions first
When all question types are included, this option moves written questions to the start — giving the AI more time to mark before the quiz ends.
Student waiting activity
Choose a game or activity students see while you discuss results between questions. Select from Learning, Games, or Creative categories.
Running the quiz
Once launched, the quiz runs full-screen on your display. Students see the same question on their own devices and tap their answer — no projector sharing required, though you can mirror your screen for the class to follow along.

Live answer tracking
The answer count (top right) ticks up in real time as students submit. You can see how many are still thinking.
Reveal correct answer
After the timer, the correct answer is highlighted and an explanation is shown — great for class discussion.
Answer distribution
See exactly how many students chose each option. Useful for spotting misconceptions on the spot.
Next question
Click Next when you are ready to move on. The timer resets and students see the next question.
Wait / Pause
Click Wait to hold on the results screen as long as you need — useful for discussing the answer with the class.
End quiz
Click End Quiz at any time. Results and class insights are saved automatically.

How scoring works
⚡ Speed + Accuracy
Scores are based on both accuracy and speed. Correct answers score points. Faster correct answers score more points than slower correct answers. Wrong answers score zero — not negative points. This rewards engagement without penalising students who take a moment to think.
Waiting Activities
Choose a waiting activity in the launcher before starting the quiz. Students see it whenever you pause to discuss results or prepare for the next question. Activities are organised into three categories:
Learning
Flashcard Review
Review flashcards built from the quiz Q&As already asked. Requires at least 1 completed question.
Games
Memory Match
Flip-card matching game using question and answer pairs from the quiz.
Typing Challenge
Speed-typing using key vocab from the quiz. Works before any questions are asked.
Tetris
Classic falling-block game. Configurable ghost piece.
Space Invaders
Shoot the correct answers. Optional maths challenges between waves.
Maths Blaster
Solve maths problems to blast targets. Choose difficulty and operations.
Spell Caster
Spell key terms to cast spells. Uses quiz vocabulary or built-in word lists.
Word Snake
Snake game using quiz vocabulary or word category lists.
Creative
Sketch Canvas
Free-draw canvas. Always available — no quiz content needed.
💡 Pro Tip
Set your waiting activity before launching — students see it automatically whenever you are on the results screen between questions.
