Explore the metaverse and VR/AR/MR/XR; the history of virtual worlds and video games; XR hardware, software and game engines; build immersive web scenes with A-Frame; networks and data in game systems; and the ethics, privacy, copyright and cyber security of immersive technology. Culminates in a VR impacts presentation.
Design and build a major metaverse game using a student-choice platform (CoSpaces/Delightex, Reality Studio, A-Frame, PlayCanvas, Unity, GameMaker, Construct 3, or AI game builders). Learn algorithms and pseudocode to direct and debug AI-generated code, generate assets with AI, apply real-world game-development, ethics and privacy-by-design practices, then test, evaluate and showcase the finished game.
Every lesson includes an engaging hook, structured activities, practice questions and a reflection — ready to present from the interactive whiteboard.
