Explore how all texts are shaped by context, purpose, and audience. Analyse how language constructs relationships, representations, and viewpoints. Study the craft of short fiction and narrative writing.
Investigate how language works at sentence and text level — clause structures, nominalisation, vocabulary, cohesion, and punctuation. Study how persuasive texts construct argument and position audiences.
Unlock the expressive power of poetry, spoken word, and multimodal texts. Analyse form, imagery, and tone in poetry from diverse voices. Study how film and visual texts construct meaning through composition and intertextuality.
Engage with an extended literary text — novel or drama — analysing theme, character, values, intertextuality, and author craft. Build analytical writing skills: TEEL paragraph structure, literary essays, and reflective portfolio review.
Every lesson includes an engaging hook, structured activities, practice questions and a reflection — ready to present from the interactive whiteboard.
